Drepung Monastery; about 8 kilometers west of central Lhasa established in 1530 by second Dalai Lama, used to be of the world’s largest monastery since king of Tsang and the Mongols. Sera Monastery is about 5 kilometers north of central Lhasa; founded in 1419 by Shakya Yeshe, was one of the Lhasa’s two great Gelupga monasteries, second only to Drepung. This monastery is worth visiting in the late afternoon when debating dance is usually held in the monastery’s debating courtyard.

After having breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide and start your long day drive to Shigatse via Gyantse. You will drive through Yamdrok-tso and Karo-la Pass, explore Khumbum and Phakhor Stupas/Chorterns and proceed to Shigatse, visit impressive Tashilhunpo Monastery. Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the few monasteries in Tibet that weathered the stormy seas of the Cultural Revolution. It is a real pleasure to explore the busy cobbled lanes twisting around the aged building. Covering 70,000sq. Meters, the monastery is essentially a walled town in its own right. After breakfast, we drive to Saga which lies at an altitude of 4600m and 280 Kilometers from Shigatse. You will cross through several high passes and scenic view of Tibetan landscapes. You will have several stops for pictures and to get freshen up. Reach Saga and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, start the long 460Km journey to Manasarovar from Saga. The journey start with full of excitement to see first view of Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Arrive at small town Chiu Gompa for overnight. You can also visit Chiu Monastery at top of the hill near back of the Manasarovar Lake. Overnight at guest house
Preparation of Kailash Kora (Circle). Get morning Sunrise view of Lake Mansarovar. You will spend more than half day and drive to Darchen for overnight. We will start early drive from Darchen after your breakfast. Our staff will provide you packed lunch for on the way. Drive to valley of the god which is also called Yamadwar. Start walking towards Dirapuk. Walking trail is flat land and some minor up hills. Arrive at Dirapuk and have north face of mount Kailash. Overnight at Guest house
Today is the hardest and most important day of this holy trip. Begin your walk very early in the morning. Hardest ascend till Drolma La pass and suddenly descent towards Gauri Kunda and further trek to Zuthulpuk. You will view different faces of Mount Kailash time and again. Overnight at Guest House
We will take easy and gentle walk towards Darchen from Zuthulpuk. Get your transportation waiting for you and drive back to Saga via Darchen on the same day. On the way you will have chance to take holy water from holy Mansarovar Lake. Overnight at Guest house
Within a same way drive back to Shigatse from Saga. Overnight at hotel in Shigatse.
Note: If you plan to travel to Nepal after the Mount Kailash Pilgrimage, you can also exit from Kyirong Border Crossing, which will take 2 more days to reach Kathmandu (Saga-Kyirong/Kerung, Cross border and drive to Kathmandu next day)
After breakfast, drive back to Lhasa from Shigatse town.
Overnight at Hotel in Lhasa
This day is leisure day in Lhasa, you can explore around the Barkhor Bazaar and shop around (You may skip this day if you prefer to leave early)
