The Langtang is third most popular trekking region in Nepal but receive less travels than the crowd hits the Annapurna or Everest routes. Langtag region has wide range of scenery, close to Kathmandu; you can get right into the mountain within a couple of days of trekking from Kathmandu. Langtang has a lot of trek combinations which can be done with a week of time frame. The Maximum elevation you will get during Langtang Trekking is 3870m above the sea level. Langtang valley was the most impacted area from the massive earthquake in 2015; however, the trail is back to normal, accommodation is good and people are nice.
If you would to explore longer days in Langtang Region, you may add on to the Langtang Valley trek include a trek along the Tamang Heritage Trail or visit to the Gosaikunda Lakes; after you can either return to Dhunche or continue trek over the Laurebinayak and to Kathmandu; you will need to add on 4-5 days more to make these both trails.
The another trail that is link to Langtang is Helambu trek over the 5106m at Ganja La Pass (4-Day expedition) which is considered one of the most difficult passes in Nepal and should not be attempted without experienced guide, good gears, mountaineering experience and proper acclimatization.
The trek ‘Langtang Village and Kyanjin Gompa Trekking -10 Days’ ascends the Langtang Valley from just 1470 meters above sea level at Syabrubesi to 3870m at Kyanjin Gompa, past every changing scenery and Tamang villages to a collection of high border with Tibet. Although, the Langtang village trek crosses through less populated and undeveloped areas, there are still plenty of guest houses along the trail. The route offers remarkably diverse scenery and culture. The superb day hikes from Kyanjing Gompa in particular offer stunning close up views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks and glacier of Langtang Lirung (7246m), Kimshung (6781m) and Langshisha Ri (6370).
This trail of ‘Langtang Village and Kyanjin Gompa Trekking -10 Days’ branches off Syabrubesi’s main road opposite the Hotel village view and descends to a camping area below the town. The First you will trek to Lama Hotel from Syabrubesi which is a pleasant walk through trees (where Langur monkeys frolic), bridges and waterfalls. You trail goes through the Langtang Kola, climbing steeply through a forest of hemlocks, maples and rhododendrons and Ghunama to the popular lunchtime spot of Ghoda Tabela (2970m). From Ghoda Tabela, the trails climbs more gradually through glacial valley to the villages of Thangshyap, Gumba and finally to Langtang Village (3430m). You will the Langtang and villages are around in Tibetan style, with stone walls around the fields, and herds of yaks.
After couple of days of ‘Langtang Village and Kyanjin Gompa Trekking -10 Days’, you will trek to Kyanjing Gompa (3860m) crossing through small villages where there is monastery, several guest houses and cheese factory. It’s worth spending full days here to appreciate the scenery. Next day in the morning, you will climb to a viewpoint at 4300m on the glacial moraine to the north for superb view of Langtang Lirung. The most popular hike is to the Kyanjing Ri View point (4600m) or the tougher option it to climb to Tsergo Ri (5033m) then we return to Syabrubesi and drive back to Kathmandu.

After breakfast at the hotel, take a jeep ride to Syabrubesi which take about seven hours with bumpy road. You can also drive with local bus that leaves at 7:00 AM every day from Kathmandu. After a long day drive, stay at Syabrubesi.

The trail branches off Syabrubesi’s main road opposite the Hotel village view and descend to the camping area below the town. Trek north-side to the suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi River, just north of the junction with the Langtang Khola. Turn right at the eastern end of the bridge and climb through the village of Old Syabru to cross a bridge to the south side of the Langtang Khola.
On the north bank of the Langtang Khola, the trail climbs alongside a series of waterfalls formed by a jumble of house-sized boulders. Climb steeply to a landslide and two sets of lodges, 15 minutes apart, at Renche (2400m), and then gently to a collection of few lodges at Changtang, popularly known as Lama Hotel (2470m)

The route continues to follow the Langtang Khola, climbing steeply through a forest of hemlocks, maples and rhododendrons, pass isolated lodges at Gumanchowk and Ghunama to the popular lunchtime spot of Ghoda Tabela (3000m). There are fine views of Langtang Lirung from here, which you can admire.
From Ghoda Tabela, the route climbs more gradually through glacial valley to the village of Thangshyap, Gumba and finally Langtang (3430m).

It only takes the morning to climb Kyanjin Gompa passing through small villages where there is a monastery, several guest houses and a cheese factory. It’s worth spending days to really appreciate the scenery.
Note: If you are planning to continue over the Ganja La to Helambu, you should stay some time here for acclimatizing.

Early in the morning, hike to Kyanjin Ri (4600m) or Tsergo Ri (5033m) from Kyanjin Gompa- Comparatively climbing to Tsergo Ri is tougher than climbing to Kyanjin Ri.

After breakfast at Kyanjing Gompa, trek back to Ghoda Table passing through villages and picturesque landscapes.

After breakfast, trek back to Bamboo (1960m) from Ghoda Tabela passing through villages and picturesque landscapes.

After breakfast, trek back to Syabrubesi from Bamboo passing through villages and picturesque landscapes.
Note: Potential can split to Thulo Syabru and to Lauribinayak for the trek to Gosaikunda Lakes.
After breakfast, take a jeep ride to return to Kathmandu. Explore around Thamel and some last hour souvenir shopping.
