The world’s highest peak has attracted many travelers from all over the world. Mountain lovers can’t wait to explore this world’s highest mountain and one of the popular trekking destinations – Everest Base Camp. The Everest Region Trek has number of stunning attractions including Gokyo Lakes, High Passes, Island Peak and many more. The duration of this trek is from 12 days to 20 days where starting/ending point is Lukla Airport. The trek to Everest region gets you into the high altitude heart of the high Himalaya, more so than any other tea house trek, there are some beautiful villages, monasteries, welcoming local people. The Everest Region trek can also be done through the Classic route of Jiri or newly explored route through Salleri/Okhaldhunga via BP hwy. These routes avoid taking flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, instead take a jeep ride to Salleri or Jiri and start the trek for about two weeks in total.
A return Treks to Mount Everest Base Camp from the airstrip at Lukla takes at least 12 days including few days of acclimatization en route. It is suggested to allow few more spare days for unforeseen situation, though.

This is one of the fastest and popular routes for the trekkers who have short and limited time for their holiday. You will trek through several ascending and descending, suspension bridges, picturesque villages and landscapes.
The walking of ‘Treks to Mount Everest Base Camp -12 Days’ is not all that strenuous, mainly because new arrivals can only walk a few hours each day before they have to stop to acclimatize properly. If trekkers fail to reach their goal it is usually because they failed to devote enough time to acclimatization. Because of that, we have kept two full acclimatization days in Namche and Dingboche to make this EBC Trek successful.
If you can allow few more days during this ‘Treks to Mount Everest Base Camp -12 Days‘, the best scenery of trek is found in the neighboring Gokyo Valley, off the main trail. You can do the loop trek from Gokyo Lakes (4750m), Gokyo Ri (5340m), Chola Pass (5367m) and Everest Base Camp (EBC) for about 15 Days. Also, you can extend your trip for Island Peak (Imje Tse) Climbing that takes 3 more days in the itinerary.
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International airport, meet and greet by the representative of HimalayanWindows. Transfer to the hotel – Brief about the trek to Mount Everest Base camp and Lhasa Tibet Tour Package.
Drive to Kathmandu airport (Domestic terminal) at least 1 hour before the flight. After flying to Lukla, arranging your bags and meeting your porters, trek downhill to lodges at Cheplung. From here the trail contours along the side of the Dudh kosi valley before ascending to Ghat (Lhawa; 2530m). The trail climbs again to Phakding at 2610m above the sea level. Overnight at Tea House
The train crosses the river on the long, swaying bridge and then leads you along the river to climb to Benkar (2700m). A short distance beyond Benkar the trail crosses the Dudh Koshi River to its east bank on a suspension bridge and climbs to Chumoa. It’s a short climb through forest to Monjo (2800m), where we can have lunch. Trek to Jorsale (2830m), the last settlement before Namche Bazar, the trail crosses back to the east side of the river before climbing to the high suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River.
It is steady two hours ascend from here to Namche Bazar. As this is the first climb to an altitude where AMS may be a problem, take it easy and avoid rushing. Before reaching to Namche, your TIMS will be checked and National Park fees collected.
This route from Namche to Tengboche also kind of spiritual because of several monasteries and temples. The trail heads through Kayangjuma towards Sansa and a pine forest before reaching Tengboche. You will visit Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual centre of Khumbu situated at an elevation of 3860m. Overnight at Tengboche

Beyond Tengboche the altitude really starts to show. The trail drops down to Debuche, crosses the Imja Khola and Climbs through rhododendron forest past superb mani stopes (Carved with Tibetan Buddhists Mantra; Om Mani Padme Hum) to Pangpoche (3860m). The Gompa here is the oldest in the Khumbu and until 1991 it was said to hold the skull and hand of Yeti. The village is good place for lunch stop.
The trail then climbs past Shomare and Orsho to Pheriche, where there is an HRA trekkers aid post and possible medical assistance- alternatively you can head to Dingboche, the gateway to Imja Tso (Island Peak). It is a good place for next day short hike during the acclimatization day. Dingboche has multiple tea houses and restaurant. Overnight at Tea house
This is another rest day during your Everest Base Camp trekking, you will need to adjust with an altitude again as you will be ascending up to 5000m now. Short hike around Pheriche/Dingboche gives you strength and capacity to adapt with the local weather. Overnight at tea house
This day, you will hike to Lobuche which lies at an elevation of 4840m, on the way to Lobuche, you passes through a number of stone memorials to honor climbers who failed to attempt to make it to the Mount Everest. This route offers stunning views of Nuptse, Cholatse, Thamserku and several other jaw-dropping mountain views. When the train reaches to Khumbu Glacier moraine, you will have the closest view of the Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal. Overnight at Lobuche
This day is the most awaiting and thrilling day of your trek of EBC. After the breakfast, you will hike to Gorakshep (Last settlement on this EBC trekking), you will take lunch at Gorakshep and hike upto amazing Khumbu Icefall and you will trek to Everest Base camp; spend about an hour exploring the camp site which is gifted by scenic natural beauty. After an exploration to EBC, trek back to Ghorakhshep. Spend a night at Gorakhshep
Early in the morning (Before sun rises); hike to Kalapatthar (5545m) and this is the highest point of this trek from where the magnificent mountain views can be seen in front of you. This is an excellent view point of Mount Everest including Pumori, Nuptse, Loptse and etc. After spending an hour on the view point, trek back to Gorakshep; eat breakfast and trek down to Pheriche. Overnight at Pheriche
This day is another day of descending with views of Mount Everest, Lhotse and Amadablam. We descent to Deboche and short trek to Tengboche Monastery. We will continue descending to Dudh Koshi River and then climb for 1 and half hour to Kyangjuma for lunch. We will finish our trek with gradually descending walk from Kyangjuma to Namche Bazar. You will leave Namche Bazaar and get a big descent to Phakding; you will have plenty of scenic photos if the weather is clear. And further descending to Lukla as we begin with a descent, the climb to end the trip of our adventure of a lifetime! Overnight at Lukla
Prepare for return flight to Kathmandu early in the morning. Sometimes, flights can be delayed or cancelled due to bad weather, take some spare days in Kathmandu not to miss your international flights. (Breakfast Included)
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.
End of your EBC Trek. Our team will transfer you to the airport for your onward destination.
